CDAC Global Forum on the Authenticity Challenge to the Participation Revolution
The Global Forum on "The authenticity challenge to the Participation Revolution" will be jointly hosted by the Communicating with Disaster Affected Communities (CDAC) Network and the Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR).
The event takes place in Bangkok on 22-23 May ahead of the CDAC Network Annual Members Council Meeting.
The goal of the event is to spark discussion and find solutions on how to best support the realisation of the Grand Bargain "Participation Revolution" commitment to include people affected by humanitarian crises in decisions which affect their lives.
This event will showcase how collaborative efforts between governments, private sector, and humanitarian actors can help steer a coordinated and genuinely participatory approach to community engagement and accountability. It will draw from ongoing work in the Participation Revolution Workstream which is co-convened by SCHR and the US and will be underpinned by CDAC’s thematic work areas of information, communication, and community engagement.
Internews Europe Chief Executive Daniel Bruce will be moderating a panel titled, "Lip-service consultation or decision-making powers? What level of participation do we need and are we committed to it?" at the forum.
