Abyei – Sudan/South Sudan

Internews is working on a series of activities that will promote critical information access for communities in Abyei. Despite the continuing political and security uncertainty, there are few accessible sources of local information. This program is centered around a new FM radio service which will to stimulate community engagement on a range of critical issues while providing a forum for engagement between community members, local authorities, political representatives, and international humanitarian and development agencies active in the area. Internews will also engage local civil society organizations and humanitarian actors in media literacy activities to foster community engagement.

Internews’ project in Abyei is funded by the U.S. Special Envoy’s Office to Sudan/South Sudan.
