AIDF Global Summit
UN OCHA’s Global Humanitarian Overview 2018 states that more than 128 million people globally need humanitarian assistance and protection this year.
Over the past 14 years, AIDF has grown to become the leading global platform serving the humanitarian aid and development sectors, bringing together regional governments, NGOs, Civil Society, Aid agencies, UN and donor organisations with the private sector.
The AIDF Global Summit offers thought leadership and capacity building on specific areas of expertise in order to help combat and overcome this global challenge.
Adrienne Villani, Internews Senior Business Development Specialist, is moderating a panel at the summit titled, "Utilizing Innovation to save lives during a disaster." The panel discussion will cover search & rescue innovations to identify survivors' and communities’ needs; review the use of GIS and big data gathering and analytics; transport of cargo including medical aid delivery; discussing how drones have changed the landscape for critical delivery such as blood supplies; and identify the latest trends and examples of innovation use post disaster and in conflict areas.
