Welcome remarks from Jeffrey Goldberg, Editor in Chief, The Atlantic
Around the world, independent media and individual journalists face increasing threats. Hostile governments, political groups and organized crime intimidate and silence the press with false accusations, threats, and acts of violence.
What can be done to help journalists safeguard against these threats before they happen? What skills and tools can strengthen the defenses of independent media, and how can the international community support and advocate for these protections and rights?
Join the conversation in Washington, DC on World Press Freedom Day. Light refreshments served. The event is free but registration is required.
