Internews’ Earth Journalism Network and the Solutions Journalism Network invite journalists in the DC area to join us for a solutions-oriented training for those interested in reporting on climate change and related issues. The training will introduce core climate change topics (including those related to water and health), and look particularly at how reporters can make global issues local (and vice versa) by digging into cross-border reporting strategies. We will utilize a solutions journalism lens throughout the gathering, focusing on response and solutions to climate-related problems, explaining key steps in reporting solutions stories, and sharing loads of tips and resources for journalists interested in investigating what’s working around one of the most pressing issues of our time.

There will be a strong workshop element to this training. If you have a story that you’re working on ideas you’re developing, please bring those with you. Our goal is to help you put a reporting plan in place.

The workshop will be led by Sara Schonhardt, Content Officer at Internews' Earth Journalism Network, and Samantha McCann, Solutions Journalism Network's Vice President of Practice Change.
