WEBINAR: The Role of Media in Containing COVID-19 and Saving Lives

Media organizations have an important role to help to fill dangerous information vacuums, counter incorrect information and stigma, understand response efforts such as self-isolation and quarantine, and help people take appropriate action in response to symptoms that could be COVID-19 and prevent transmission during the current COVID-19 outbreak. This will make a difference between thousands or millions of people being affected and save lives.

Join representatives from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), BBC Media Action, Internews and the World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss their findings on rumours and misinformation around COVID-19 and the resources available to counter false facts, help people take action and address stigma.

To help us shape the webinar, if you have any specific questions about COVID-19 or any challenges you have been facing in discussing or reporting on COVID-19, please send them to us by 12.00pm CET (Geneva) time on Tuesday 3rd March 2020.
