Upcoming Events: Where You Can Find Internews' Earth Journalism Network

12 June, 2019: Resource Watch webinar @11am ICT. Lean how to find free, accurate data and maps on environmental issues such as deforestation, coral reef bleaching, coastal flooding, fires and other natural disasters and overlay them with global challenges such as poverty, population growth and human migration to see interconnections between these problems. Hosted by the World Resources Institute, the webinar is targeted specifically at journalists based in Asia.

1-6 July, 2019: World Conference of Science Journalists in Lausanne, Switzerland. An international panel of award-winning environmental journalists, including EJN’s Imelda Abano and Frederick Mugira, will talk about how communities are adapting to environmental crises, such as drought, wildfires, flooding and storms and explore ways the media can better report on those efforts. EJN Executive Director James Fahn will join a panel on July 4 focused on how journalists are using innovative technologies to test food, water, air and medicine and incorporating the results in the their reporting, sparking action from governments and authorities.

9-11 July, 2019: 5th World Journalism Education Congress in Paris, France. EJN’s South Asia Content Coordinator, Ramesh Bhushal will speak during a roundtable organized in cooperation with UNESCO about the challenges climate changes poses to journalism educators. View the preliminary program.
