With the technical and financial support of Internews, Journalists in Danger (JED), the main organization for the defense and promotion of freedom of the press in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has published a guide about press offenses for Congolese journalists: “Beyond Freedom … the Journalist Facing Press Offenses.”  Restrictions on freedom of press and expression are common occurrences in the DRC. Through awareness campaigns, JED wants to empower journalists and asked Godefroid Kabongo Nzengu, a lawyer at the Kinshasa Court of Appeal, to write this short manual on press offenses in the Congolese legal framework.
