The Institute of Mass Information (IMI) in Ukraine produced the Freedom of Speech Chronicle – 2016 which contains brief descriptions of all detected cases of journalists’ rights violations and freedom of speech oppression in a chronological order.
In 2016, in the territory of Ukraine not under occupation, there were 264 registered violations of the freedom of press, which is 15% less than in 2015 (310 cases, in 2014 — 995 cases).
The report is supported by the USAID U-Media project implemented by Internews, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
A hard copy of the publication is available at the IMI office (47, Velyka Vasylkivska Street, Office 17).
The publication is in Ukrainian and English.
