In August 2022, Secretary Blinken met with young people at an Internews-supported “Hackathon” in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The hackathon helped youth learn to use technology to counter disinformation and increase transparency in the DRC’s electoral process. Internews has been working in the DRC since 2011 and has helped run such trainings across the country and world.
