Internews empowers people worldwide with the trustworthy, high-quality information they need to make informed decisions, participate in their communities, and hold power to account.
As a non-profit, Internews seeks and accepts funding from institutional donors, foundations, corporations, and individuals. We accept funding when our goals, values and vision align with those of the grantmaker, and when we determine the goals espoused by the funder to be valid and achievable.
Accordingly, we reject or decline to pursue grants and contributions in instances where we don’t share the funder’s goals or find the proposed work in misalignment with our vision, mission, and values.
As an organization driven by partnership with allies who share our vision, including journalists and technologists, data scientists and legal specialists, as well as artists, advocates and storytellers, we prioritize free expression. We do not ourselves, nor do we allow any funders, to exercise editorial control or ownership of content produced by partners through our grants or activities.
