Yntymak’s data journalism fellow team developed their data-story, presenting the long-known problem of the overpopulated school classes in Osh with data. The journalists looked at the dynamics of school populations, broken down by the language of instruction. They found out that the problem is concentrated in Russian-language classes, which have up to 60 students in a class, while Kyrgyz and Uzbek language classes have half as many students.
This story was picked up by a member of Parliament who quoted it in a floor speech.
