As Director, Multi-Regional Programs Chris develops and oversees a diverse portfolio of Internews programming that is implemented in two or more geographic regions to strengthen independent media, advance freedom of expression, and increase access to information. Previously at Internews, Chris was Senior Director, Global Development (2014-2022) as well as Country Director/Chief of Party in Ukraine (2010-2012).
Prior to joining Internews, Chris designed and managed public outreach and strategic communications initiatives supporting USAID programming in the Democracy, Governance, and Human Rights (DRG) as well as health and economic growth and trade sectors. He has led and managed country-based programs and assignments in Ukraine, Serbia, Kosovo, Armenia, Tajikistan, and Indonesia, and resided in Russia from 1994-1999 where he worked in asset management and at the Moscow Bureau of NBC News. He received a BA in English and Russian Langauge from Hobart College, and an MA in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Chris lives with his wife and three kids in Philadelphia, but his heart remains in his hometown of Boston.
