Minority Rohingya refugees have fled violence and persecution in Myanmar, only to live in an uneasy peace with the Bangladeshi host community. Rumors fly constantly in both communities. To address this issue, Internews is supporting the production of a radio program called Shantir Lai Kotha Koi,” (Talking Peace) that addresses rumors and provides vital information to the community through news and drama.
“My community has suffered terribly. I am happy that at least now I can provide them with information and the real picture – to the refugee and host community.” — Shamima, community correspondent
