As part of the Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP) program, led this year by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) in partnership with the Stanley Center for Peace and Security, 20 CCMP Fellows, four trainers, and two Internews Fellows are attending the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow from November 4 to November 12, 2021.
CCMP organizers believe that it is critical for journalists from low- and middle-income countries to have the opportunity to report live from COP26, which represents a pivotal moment in the global fight to combat climate change. But of course, this year it is more difficult than ever for them to attend because of COVID-related travel restrictions.
For climate and environmental journalists in our network reporting on the COP from afar, we’ll also have daily press broadcasts beginning on November 8th and on-ground updates from Glasgow. We’ll stream panel discussions and offer you virtual seats to our side event at the conference. Check out our list of resources and don’t miss our Fellows’ stories as they’re published in The Scotsman and in media outlets in their home countries — improving public awareness and engagement on climate change in regions that are often most vulnerable to climate impacts.
