Matt Chanoff is a San Francisco philanthropist and venture capitalist. He has designed and implemented broad-scale market evaluations and market-entry strategies in the United States, China, and Southeast Asia for Fortune 500 companies in several industries, including electronic components, high-tech materials, software, automotive market and aftermarket, chemicals, investment, and professional services.
Since 1997, Mr. Chanoff has managed projects for Technology Forecasters, Inc., working in supply chain management, new market assessment, customer pre-qualification, acquisitions, and siting manufacturing facilities. He is the former Asia director at National Endowment for Democracy, and has a Master’s of Arts degree in International Economics and Politics.
Mr. Chanoff serves on the boards of CodeGuard Inc., the world’s leading provider of offsite website backup, and Shining Hope for Communities, which combats gender inequality and extreme poverty in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya by linking tuition-free schools for girls to accessible social services for all.
Mr. Chanoff plays an important global governance role for Internews, sitting on both our US and UK board, and therefore supporting the collaboration between the two groups.
