Melissa Ong holds dual roles as Director of Mojo Pte Ltd. and Vice President of Business Development and Director of Activities of COMO Hotels and Resorts. At Mojo, she oversees a family office, managing investments in technology, food and beverage, hospitality, real estate, public securities and funds, as well as managing the endowment portfolio of COMO Foundation, where she also serves as a director of the family foundation.
Melissa began her career in community investment and development working with humanitarian non‐government organizations in Afghanistan, East Timor, Aceh, and Sudan. She has consistently advocated for local community participation while coordinating international stakeholders and ensuring on‐the‐ground effectiveness of international humanitarian programs.
Pairing her field experience with academic rigor, she served as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Asia and Globalization at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, after which she worked as Global Community Advisor with BHP Billiton Minerals Exploration, where she advised and mitigated the impact of acquisition and exploration activities on communities.
Melissa holds a Bachelor’s in Development and Politics from SOAS, University of London and a Master’s in International Affairs (Human Rights and Security Policy) from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York. She also serves as Director of Knowhere Pte Ltd, Club 21 Pte Ltd, and Mulberry Group plc.
