Teldah Mawarire is the project director for Internews in South Africa in the Advancing Rights in Southern Africa consortium. She has an interest in providing support to journalists, Civil Society Organisations and media houses in the Southern Africa region. She is a former editor and journalist and has completed research on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information as well as migration. A feminist and human rights defender, Teldah has supported human rights defenders to access mechanisms and engage the African Union, the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights and at the United Nations Human Rights Council.
