This guideline is the outcome of several roundtables conducted with journalists, media outlet managers, academics, media stakeholders, and SGBV and legal experts across Iraq. It was produced to address the lack of identified policy in media outlets in Iraq and the lack of mechanisms in reporting sexual harassment and extortion in newsrooms, as well as to address the issue of women journalists keeping silent or surrendering their jobs to avoid risking their reputation when they are subjected to harassment. The guideline will be provided to all media outlets in Iraq to encourage them to develop clear policies and procedures to combat harassment and SGBV in their institutions. This guideline was produced under the Our Voices “Aswatuna” project in Iraq. It is in Kurdish and Arabic.
