New normal

Refers to the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has changed the way people live their lives.

As long as we wait for a vaccine or treatment to prevent or treat the disease people have had to adjust and get used to the “new normal” which means learning to live with the reality of COVID-19 and its devastating impact on societies and economies globally. The world as we knew it has changed since the virus jumped from an animal to humans in 2019 and spread dramatically across the world. The pandemic has changed how people live, work, commute, and communicate. In this context, people are also beginning to talk about “life before COVID-19 and life after COVID-19” meaning that life is not the same as before the pandemic.
