Social/physical distancing

A WHO-recommended health measure that aims to reduce close person-to-person contact to stop the spread of an infectious disease like SARS-CoV-2.

These measures include staying at least two metres (about 6 feet) away from another person at all times, working from home, avoiding public transportation, staying inside as much as possible, avoiding large gatherings, and avoiding contact with high-risk groups. Some people suggest “social distancing” should really be called “physical distancing” as that more accurately describes these actions – which are designed to keep people physically apart from one another.
