Internews’ Sudan Information Ecosystem Assessment (IEA) conducted in five states, including Khartoum, Kassala, West Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile, reveals there is a need for better cooperation between humanitarians and journalists in responding to the information needs of local communities affected by conflict and other humanitarian crises. How can humanitarian partners and journalist work together to meet the information needs of conflict-affected communities during the pandemic? Is mistrust between humanitarians and media representatives impacting the quality of COVID-19 information disseminated to local communities in Sudan?
We hope to spark an interactive dialogue around how we can work more effectively as humanitarian partners and media representatives, while being responsive to the information needs of conflict-affected communities in Sudan.
