Self-quarantine

When people who may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus and who are at risk of developing COVID-19 disease voluntarily stay at home or indoors to prevent infecting others.

Health experts recommend that people self-quarantine for 14 days which is enough time to know whether or not they will become ill and be infectious to other people. Those in self-quarantine need to check their body temperature daily and look out for symptoms such as a dry cough.

Some governments require visitors or citizens entering their country to self-quarantine for two weeks in case they are infected, have not been tested, and are either presymptomatic or asymptomatic
